The name

Anko comes from the Bangla আঁকো, meaning draw. It is one word, with a capital A and a capital K.

✓ Do

  • Write AnkoKids as one word.
  • Use a spaced hyphen in the full name: AnkoKids - Drawing Tutor.
  • Keep the short name on the launcher icon, where labels get cut off.
  • Translate the descriptive half. In Bangla the name reads আঁকো কিডস - আঁকা শেখা.

✗ Do not

  • Write Anko Kids, ankokids or ANKOKIDS in body text.
  • Split it as Anko - Kids Drawing Tutor.
  • Call it a game. It is a tutor, and the difference matters to parents.
  • Promise mastery. The app teaches; it does not make masters.

The mark

A yellow pencil with a face, tilted left, drawing a small spark. It is the same mascot the child meets on the first screen.

On light
The default. Cream or white behind it.

On ink
The outline stays dark; give it room to breathe.

On teal
Acceptable. Avoid orange and yellow grounds.

Keep clear space around the mark of at least a quarter of its height. The smallest it should ever be printed or shown is 24 pixels. Never recolour it, stretch it, add a shadow, or rotate it past its built-in tilt.

Core

Accents

Teal is the only colour that means something: it marks the thing a child should touch next. Use it sparingly for that reason. The accents belong to categories and crayons, never to navigation.

Type

Baloo 2, a rounded face with matching Bangla, Devanagari and Arabic cuts, so a heading looks the same in all four scripts.

Draw one line at a time

Headings: 800 weight, tight line height.

এক রেখা করে আঁকো

Baloo Da 2 for Bangla, Baloo Bhaijaan 2 for Arabic. Same family, same feel.

Body text never drops below 15 pixels, and anything a child taps is at least 44 by 44. Sentences stay short, because a five-year-old is listening to them read aloud.

Voice

Speaking to a child

Short. Warm. One instruction at a time. "Draw a big circle for the head." Praise is specific and immediate, and there is never a wrong answer, only another try.

Speaking to a parent

Plain and factual. Say what the app does and what it does not do. No accounts, no data collection, and adverts only when asked for. Claims are checkable or they are not made.
